Linear Z-Wave Switch aprontest commands

Postby mothpaul » Wed Jan 28, 2015 10:07 am

I have my zigbee lights working and I am interested in obtaining some z-wave wall switches. I am looking at the Linear Z-Wave switch. From what I have read, I think I can pair it to the rooted Wink Link, but I don't have any information on how I might issue aprontest commands to the Z-wave switch after it is paired. If anyone can show these commands, it would be appriciated.

I don't see any reason this would be different then any other command once you figured out the Master ID BUT having said all the below.. I have never done a none Zigbee device!

aprontest -u -m MAsterID -t (whatever attribute #you wish to change) -v (Value of it)

you can see all that after you pair it
aprontest -a -r zwave and do whatever the instructions say to pair on the switch end.

Once paired..
do a
aprontest -l to see what its master device ID it is and then do

aprontest -l -m MAsterID to see a detailed description of what attribute it has and what values it expects you to send it.

Z-Wave does have specific commands they aren't needed for normal use.

Z-Wave Specific Operations:
--zwave_controller_reset Reset the zwave controller. USE WITH CAUTION.
Existing z-wave network will be lost.
--zwave_remove_failed Remove a failed zwave device.
--zwave_replace_failed Replace a failed zwave device.
--zwave_learn_mode Enter Learn Mode on the Zwave Controller.
--zwave_controller_shift Hand off control to another (new) Zwave controller.
--zwave_exclusion_mode Enter Exclusion Mode on the Zwave Controller.
