Re: Work in Progress - Howto

rm -f /tmp/rootfs/etc/default/dropbear Hi, Thanks for all the help. Saw this forum from the XDA forum. Why do you delete dropbear? Some of the other tutorials do not delete dropbear. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=72622240&postcount=220 Just wondering what the difference is, or may...

Re: Attaching Devices to Rooted Wink Hub?

I have on my to-do list to write a script that does all the updating work for you... for users who get to the point where they have root and network connectivity. I think it should be something as simple as: curl -s http://foobar.com/upgrademywink.sh | sh and let it do it's thing. I may want a guine...

Re: Polling devices

you could watch the log file for the event you want to monitor with something like cron, though that would not be instant... There is probably a hook somewhere you can use as an instant trigger. here is the info that spews out when I turn on a zigbee light (stuff like date/time, process pid, etc rem...

Re: how to add light bulbs to groups via aprontest

That adds the group. But trying to add devices to the group, it tells me I need to specify a radio, with the -r flag. But what are the radio designations? I tried ZIGBEE, but that's not right. Here is how I added a device to the group. -x <value> Specify a group for an add, delete, or update -m <id...

Re: Connecting to Wink app after rooting

I have yet to try connecting from anything but my iPhone. I can try it from an android device and let you know what I find. For what it's worth, I leave my hubs able to communicate with whatever they want. I have never had a hub update without my instructing it to do so. I have also looked through t...

Re: Attaching Devices to Rooted Wink Hub?

I was able to add a bulb the same way. [root@flex-dvt ]# aprontest -a -r zigbee Add device for Zigbee Waiting for 1 callbacks... New Zigbee node: 1 [root@flex-dvt ]# Something to keep in mind is the on/off and the level are separate attributes. So when attribute 1 is OFF, you can set attribute 2 to ...

Re: Work in Progress - Howto

should there be a dot between the star and "sh"?

It actually doesn't matter... there are no other files in that directory ending in sh so with or without the dot, it will have the same result. I did however add the dot to my post for consistency sake.

Current version upgrade-ability status

00.01 = original firmware = standard root process
00.33 = a little tricky but not bad, root while the hub is in the updater fs during update process.
00.47 and higher = unless you get the "update" option, you're kinda stuck at the moment.
